It’s that time of the year, the visits to the beach have begun to diminish. It’s time to dress up warmly and appropriately for the weather, and now we’ll begin to favor warm drinks over cold ones.

Here are some interesting facts about Autumn:

  1. Did you know, up until 1500’s the people would call it the season of harvest?
  2. Birds prepare for winter migration and other animals practice their mating instincts for the season.
  3. According to superstition, when a person catches a falling leaf during autumn, good luck will come to them.

Why should you consider Portugal next Summer?

Popping the big question is important. Where are you going to spend your next summer vacation trip?

Should you stay at home and mourn everyone that gets sunburnt? Or should you get a plane ticket and fly over someplace?

Recommending Portugal isn’t bothersome because it has some beautiful landscapes for whatever occasion.

Do you want to have fun?

Do you?

If you do, Portugal promises to have all of that. Portugal holds various festivals during the summer time.

One very well known festival worldwide is Nos Alive, probably being the sellout of the year!

My long and exhausting trip to Russia – Day 1

For as long I could remember, I’ve had these flashes of memories in my daily life. Maybe it was that Sunset that I remember when passing Paris in the highway. Maybe it was that family member that I left a toy with. I was very little back 10 years ago.

We’d had the greatest trip and I couldn’t remember much. That’s what I get for being 7 or 8 at the time but for me that was the greatest time of my childhood, even if I can’t remember everyday I spent there.

So go on, 10 years pass. I’ve grown, my family’s grown.
I had to go back there to see what I enjoyed so much when I was little. And it happened. Albeit it wasn’t in the same car nor the same roads, it felt exhilarating either way.

So here’s the plan:

We’d go to Spain, leave around the area of San Sebástian to France and head to Paris. Then go to Germany and stop to see Naumburg, the city my father wanted to go see since he had done his military service there but had never gone to the city. Then hurry on to Poland and the Belorussian country in order to get to Russia quickly.

Did I mention we went from Portugal? SORRY! We did.

The trip lasted 5 whole days, with minimum hours of sleep and a whole lot of coffee. We were actually impressed with the petrol stations along Europe, because we’ve never seen some that are very beautiful.

Here’s a gallery of some photographs taken around the first 2 days.

The Journey Begins in McDonald’s

I’ve made my goal during my trip to go to a McDonald’s in each country I visit and I sort of completed that so far.

Me in front a French McDonald’s

I’ve gone to many, and as far I can remember I first had a Happy Meal with a McFlurry in Spain, I had a Big Mac menu that I got a glass cup (that unfortunately broke on the way back) in France, and Germany we had some german food I believe,

so I don’t actually recall going to a McDonald’s. I’d have to go check the receipts that I kept. I lost internet in Poland and they used different currency so we had to unfortunately to just enter and go, same in Belarus. When I got to Russia it took a while but I experienced my first breakfast in a McDonald’s and I was very satisfied with what I had. First it was much cheaper than in Portugal. Normally there’s a little apple pie, but in Russia they have a cherry pie and it was amazingly delicious.

Anyways, that mostly it for now, I’ll possibly update it sooner or later with more!
